Project description: The goal of the project was to increase the public involvement and spiritual development of different groups of disabled children. Using various campaign materials, the NGO raised public awareness regarding the education of disabled children. The local government bodies of Goris and the surrounding four villages approved the legal and working model of draft procedures regarding the professional education of disabled children.

This legislation was then introduced to local self-governing bodies for adoption and dissemination among the trading centers of the city.

Awareness of Sisian community members and legal institutions (TSB, educational institutions, health service, social and legal institutions) concerning the problem and the methods of its solution, will be increased. The corresponding clauses of the RA legislation will be implemented at 84 shops. Productivity of the activities performed by legal bodies (educational institutions, TSB, Superintendence dealing with minors affairs, health service center, SSTA) and interested members of the community (organizations, parents, NGO-s) to solve the problem will be increased and the number of minors (about 506 people) using alcohol and tobacco will be reduced.

Those imprisoned and the general population will also be informed of the “Law on Arrested and Imprisoned persons.” Places of confinement in Kapan, Sisian, Goris, and Meghri will be monitored to ensure they are in correspondence with the principles of the law. The Syunik Marz management of these places of confinement and of the police will introduce the portfolio of reforms and the time line to eliminate existing flaws. "Syunik pre school children" NGO

Project description: The project goal is that the school-aged (ages from 5 to 6) children of Hartashen, Broon, Shinuhayr, Verishen, Kornidzor, Harzhis and Karashen communities of Goris region receive preschool education. For achieving this goal it is planned to increase awareness of Hartashen, Broon, Shinuhayr, Verishen, Kornidzor, Harzhis and Karashen communities' members about the law on preschool educational entities, develop the mechanism for organization of preschool education and introduce the mechanism to community councils and mayors. During the project it is planned to lobby the above mentioned communities for LGBs to approve and start to implement the mechanism.

"Sisian Development Center" NGO

Project description: The project goal is to achieve a supportive environment, where young people are protected and have all the opportunities for development and participation, where mechanisms intended by youth policy are working and being implemented and young people fully participate in the development of their community.
To reach the goal the NGO, together with partner organizations will elaborate on “Youth policy” document and introduce to Community Councils for the approval. The NGO will support to the formation of structures ensuring the implementation of Youth policy and investment of mechanisms (particularly youth committees ate community councils, youth councils and etc) for effective implementation of those structures.

“Scientific Center for
International Experience Studies" NGO
Project duration: December 1, 2007 – July 31, 2008
Project description: The project goal is to decrease the average index (59%) of risk factor of using alcohol and tobacco by the minors. It will be reduced to 29.5%. And after the project the invested effort and mechanisms will continue their dynamic process being regarded as a model for other communities.
In the result of realizing the project the average index of unawareness of Sisian community members and legal institutions (educational institutions, health service, social and legal institutions) concerning to the problem and the methods of its solution, will be reduced. The corresponding clauses of RA legislation will be implemented at 84 shops. The average index of the productivity of the activities performed by the legal bodies (educational institutions, Superintendence dealing with minors affairs, health service center) and the interested members of the community (organizations, parents, NGO-s) on solving the problem will be increased and the number of minors (about 506 people) using alcohol and tobacco will be reduced.
