The article has identified some issues discussed at CEC April 30 session. The representative of Heritage party in CEC raised concerns about the decision of CEC to register ARF party candidate Artsvik Minasyan, suggesting that as he was not registered as a resident of Yerevan, he could not contend for the position of Mayor.
Another issue was the campaigning rules for those candidates, who were civil servants by the time of campaigning. CEC decided that according to the law those candidates should take a formal leave of absence during the campaign period. Other issues raised were about the fact that the authorities were using their incumbent position to campaign before the official start of the campaigning period, as well as about the abuse of administrative resources by the authorities.
